Project Profile

Cotton Mill Bridge Replacement, Atlantic County

Atlantic County completed its $6.5 million full replacement of the Cotton Mill Bridge in Mays Landing. The original Cotton Mill Bridge was built in 1940, and is located in downtown Mays Landing near Mill Street and the Lake Lenape Dam over the Great Egg Harbor River. The new bridge was widened to accommodate 6′ sidewalks and 15′ shared use lanes which will make the bridge pedestrian and bicycle compatible. Aesthetic treatments were included to compliment the historic district of Mays Landing. This project was funded by 2015-2017 Local Bridges Fund, plus a County contribution of $2.8 million in funding for the project.
